The First Annual Manchester Bunny Hop was a big success! Lots of little kids came out to play with the Easter Bunny - there were games with prizes, crafts, and snacks. Everyone had a good time, and we have lots of pictures from the event posted on our website. Check them out now by clicking here! Thanks to Debbie Whitehead for spearheading the event - and for being our Easter Bunny! Thanks also to our Volunteer-Bunnies (Phil Paquette, Anne Cisney & Arlene Rebelowski) who helped make the Bunny Hop a success. Special thanks to Annette Kingsburg for helping at the crafts table and to the Friends of the Library for the use of the room.
The winner of the "Guess How Many M&M's" contest was Delaney DiGiovanni who guessed 888. The correct number was 885. The second closest guess was by Roman Gagg who guessed 894. The Gagg family has won this event several times in the past! We are still hoping for volunteers to help with the wiring that needs to be done to get a permanent light fixed on the Veteran's Memorial and to run electricity out to the Christmas Tree area. Any licensed electricians out there willing to help? Contact us at info@manchesterca.org. We're also still trying to figure out a way to fix the "Welcome to Manchester" sign on Colchester and Miracle Mile. The posts are rotting and the sign is starting to shift... Any help with this restoration project would be greatly appreciated by all!!

RAPSody Ride: Ride Around Puget Sound will be held Aug 28-29 as a one day or a two day ride. Please go to the website to get all the details of the ride: www.rapsodyride.org . This cycling event benefits Bicycle Alliance of Washington and is also a Pedal4Purpose event that can benefit over 53 charities. All riders will be riding up from Shelton through Port Orchard along Beach Drive to Manchester for a reststop at the Manchester Waterfront Park. Riders will be arriving between 12:00 and 4:00pm and then continue on their course to the Southworth Ferry to Vashon. Plans are to have a "heros" reception for these riders in Manchester who have already ridden 125 miles with another 30 miles to go before their final destination of Freighthouse Square in Tacoma. At the park, tents and tables will be set up with treats and food that can fuel these riders. Also there are plans to have the "Hometown Band" play some of their favorite renditions. We are hoping the community of Manchester will support this charity event and offer support. We will need volunteers to serve food and drink, traffic control, set-up and clean-up committees. If you are interested in volunteering or would like to be a sponsor of this event, please call Jill Priest, 871-7184 evening or 476-2493 daytime.
