  • The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2338 of Port Orchard is a service group that makes South Kitsap proud. Thanks very much to the Eagles for the time and energy their members have contributed to the community of Manchester. This Aerie was the donor of the 2002 Manchester Community Christmas tree.
  • Freedom Soars The Department of Defense maintains public lands for wildlife preservation and for their use in training. One such site is near the Manchester Fuel Depot

Youth and academic groups

Local churches and religious organizations

  • Elim Lutheran Church A congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), you'll find us at the top of the hill at the intersection of Hillcrest and Woods Road. Sunday School is at 9:00 a.m. and worship is at 10:30 until after Memorial Day, at which time we'll switch to our Summer schedule with worship at 9:30 and no Sunday School until after Labor Day. Vacation Bible School is free to all children (3 years old to grade 6) regardless of church affiliation, June 21-25. Call 871-0602.
  • Manchester Community Church You'll find this community church on 7545 E Madrone Avenue, on the hill above downtown Manchester. While you could call the Community Church the MCC, please remember that it bears no direct relationship to our other local MCC -- the Manchester Community Council. Many thanks to the Community Church for their assistance with various Comunity Association events and programming.

Transportation to and from Manchester

  • Kitsap Transit Bus Service Kitsap Transit busses run regular trips on weekdays between Manchester and destinations such as downtown Port Orchard and the Southworth ferry terminal. As an added bonus, passengers traveling to or from a ferry during commuting hours ride free!
  • Kitsap Transit Foot Ferry Kitsap Transit recently took over operation of the fleet of small passenger ferries which run from downtown Port Orchard to Bremerton, where they connect with larger ferries bound for Seattle and Bainbridge Island.
  • Washington State Ferries The Southworth Ferry terminal is just ten minutes' drive from Manchester, along a scenic, beachside road. Ferries run from this local terminal to Vashon Island and West Seattle.
