Though the much-anticipated Freedom Fighter Triathlon, sponsored by Fred Meyer and the Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce, was not held on September 11th this year, the MCA Project Linus Blanketeer Challenge continued as planned.

As part of our own remembrance of Patriot Day, the Manchester Community Association teamed up with members of our community to make homemade quilts and blankets for children in our area who are experiencing trauma. By Patriot Day, we had received a total of ten blankets, which will be passed along to the South Kitsap chapter of Project Linus and distributed to hospitals, aid workers, and emergency service providers on their way to children who could use a little comfort. Among the blankets we received were several warm fleece blankets, an intricate patchwork quilt, a quilt made of cloth from Germany, and a well-traveled fleece blanket with edging crocheted while its maker was on a trip around the US.

     Way to go, Manchester!
Thanks to everyone for contributing to this campaign.

This month the MCA is pleased to highlight
Teresa Farrell and Washington Web Solutions

Providing the technical resources required to establish and maintain a professional and effective Internet presence for small - mid-size companies.

We think of ourselves as a hybrid between business consultants and internet technologists. We understand the competitive pressures facing businesses today and work to assist them with improving performance through real leverage of technology. If it doesn't improve the performance, you probably shouldn't do it.

Teresa Farrell, owner of WA WebSolutions chose to office in Manchester, WA. "I chose to move to Manchester, WA fifteen years ago when I was still apart of the New York, New York rat race. I always felt that the quiet beauty of Manchester would only enhance performance and personal productivity. I chose to home office before the internet provided tools to make it common place as it is today. My firm partners with companies literally all over the world so it no longer matters where I locate office or staff so we all are free to physically be wherever it is best for us to be and I believe that each professional can best determine that!"

Whether your need is big or small...WA WebSolutions provides a portal website to educate and provide web products for "do it yourselfers" because as Teresa says, "Kitsap county has that pioneer spirit...I would rather do it myself, so we created a site to serve those people with the best service and the best prices.
