Friends of Sam Parker AuctionA well-loved community member, Sam Parker, has been diagnosed with stage four cancer. Sam's community of friends, family and neighbors are working together in an effort to help him cover the great expenses he will incur during this difficult time. Our all-volunteer community group is having both a silent and a live auction on March 6th at 1:00 pm to raise funds for Sam. The auction will be held at Waterman's Hall (5785 E. HIllcrest) in Port Orchard. There will be live music and appetizers, all donated by community members. Sam's gentle smile and helping hands are familiar to many in Manchester and Port Orchard. He has lived and worked in our community for more than 13 years. Sam is a carpenter, skilled artist, poet, sailor and musician. He is a member of the Harper Park Improvement Club and has donated many hours to that organization. Sam is always quietly there to help other people in any way he possibly can. Now, as our community pulls together, we feel this is our chance to help Sam! We need your help with donations of items or services to be sold at this benefit auction! A few of the items already donated are works of art by community artists, services from businesses, household items, and monetary donations. Please help by making a donation of becoming involved in the planning of the auction, and by attending the auction is possible. We want to make this a supportive community event to remember! For questions about donations, delivery, or pickup, please call (360) 769-9478 or e-mail mrturner@hotmail.com. Our mailing address is "Friends of Sam Parker," P.O. Box 4417, S. Colby, WA 98348.
